DESCRIPTION:While we all look forward to Resurrection Day\, there is something incredibly powerful about stepping back into the very room where it all began. Before the empty tomb\, there was a Passover Seder.\n\n\n\nYou’re invited to join my congregation on April 1st at 6:00 PM as we walk through the Seder together.\n\n\n\nBy experiencing the Seder\, the story of the crucifixion and the meaning of Unleavened Bread takes on a whole new layer of meaning and beauty. \n\n\n\nThe Bible never mentions a holiday called Easter\, but it speaks over and over again of Pesach (a.k.a. Passover). God calls it one of His feasts and wants it rehearsed every year because it commemorates such pivotal events in redemptive history. SUMMARY:Hannukiah Lighting with Beit Messiah
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, our friends at Beit Messiah host a hanukkiah lighting next to the Grace Heritage Center in downtown Georgetown. They have a giant lampstand that they inherited from Messiah Echad\, and they aren’t letting it go to waste. They usually do some music\, snacks\, and a short message before the lighting.\n\n\n\n\nDOYC will be joining them for the first night of the festival\, at 6:00 pm on Sunday\, Dec. 14th. \n\n\n\nThe event is outside\, so dress accordingly\, because shivering is no fun.

DESCRIPTION:Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles: October 6-13\, 2025\nBeginning the evening of Monday\, October 6th\, the seven days of Sukkot are celebrated by dwelling in the sukkah (tent / portable covering)\, taking the Four Kinds\, and rejoicing. \nSukkot commemorates Adonai sheltering our ancestors as they traveled from Egypt to the Promised Land. The Four Kinds express our unity and our belief in God’s omnipresence. \nComing after the solemn Days of Awe it is a time of joy and happiness. \nThe first day of Sukkot is yom tov\, when work is forbidden. Traditionally (not biblically)\, candles are lit in the evening\, and festive meals are preceded with Kiddush and contain challah dipped in honey. \nThe intermediate days are quasi holidays\, known as chol hamoed.
