SUMMARY:Hannukiah Lighting with Beit Messiah
DESCRIPTION:Every year\, our friends at Beit Messiah host a hanukkiah lighting next to the Grace Heritage Center in downtown Georgetown. They have a giant lampstand that they inherited from Messiah Echad\, and they aren’t letting it go to waste. They usually do some music\, snacks\, and a short message before the lighting.\n\n\n\n\nDOYC will be joining them for the first night of the festival\, at 6:00 pm on Sunday\, Dec. 14th. \n\n\n\nThe event is outside\, so dress accordingly\, because shivering is no fun.

SUMMARY:Shemini Atzeret
DESCRIPTION:Eight is Great\nSukkot may be over\, but Adonai declared that we should “stick around” for one more appointed time to wrap up the annual holy days. Tomorrow (Tuesday\, 10/14/2025) is that day: Shemini Atzeret. It’s a day that signifies everlasting days of joy\, fellowship\, and celebration in the house of Elohiym. \nWe’ll be meeting at 10:00 at Heron Pavilion in San Gabriel Park (Georgetown). \nYou needn’t bring anything except a camp chair\, a Bible\, sunglasses\, and sunscreen. Dress for hot weather. We’ll have BBQ for lunch\, and there will be a variety of games (badminton\, disc golf\, secret agent\, etc.) to play until we leave at 2:00. \nCome increase our joy with your presence! \nPS: Children are welcome to hang out with us at the park\, but we won’t have a dedicated childcare provider\, so please keep a close eye on your little ones. There is a playground right next to our pavilion. \nPPS: Elohiym stipulated additional giving during Sukkot and the other two pilgrimage feasts. He said\, “No man shall come before Me empty-handed.” Have you donated this week to Kingdom causes above and beyond your normal giving? You by no means need to give to DOYC\, but as you consider where to direct your charity\, DOYC would love to have some of your support. To give electronically\, use this link. Thank you!

SUMMARY:Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot)
DESCRIPTION:DOYC: Outdoors Edition\nWe all eagerly anticipate the Season of Joy\, and guess what? The wait is almost over! The Feast of Tabernacles begins Monday evening! \nYahweh said\, “live in booths\,” so that’s what we’re gonna do. From Monday until Sunday\, we’ll be dwelling at the campsites at Berry Springs Park in Georgetown. The address is 1801 Co Rd 152\, Georgetown\, TX 78626. If the gate is closed when you arrive\, call us at 512-777-1075 for the gate code. \nCome early if you can so that you’ve got plenty of time to set up before sundown. \nOur first service will start at approximately sunset\, and then we’ll hang out in our communal sukkah afterward. We’ll convene at site #16. \nOur second service will be Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM. \nSabbath service this week will be at St. Philip’s UMC\, as usual. Then we’ll return to the campground that afternoon or evening. \nSnack and refreshments will be available\, but you’ll need to provide your own meals during the week. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYour Task: RSVP!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPLEASE RSVP by replying to info@doyc.faith and telling us which days/nights you plan to be present. \nSome folks use the campsite only on the first night and then tabernacle in their yard for the remainder of the week. Others camp with us only during the weekend that falls within Sukkot. It’s up to each family\, but we’d like to know your plans so that we can plan appropriately for snack/drinks and activities. \nDOYC has reserved spaces 13\, 14\, and 16\, each of which will accommodate a few tents. Spaces are not assigned except that the Gablers will use part of space #16. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLast Thing\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDon’t forget to bring your Bibles and lulavs\, a large water bottle (there’s no water at the sites—running water is accessible nearby)\, and a folding camp chair (we have a few\, but not enough for everyone). \nThe campground does not permit glass containers of any kind. I know: boooo\, hissss. Sorry. \nAside from that\, we think you’ll find Berry Springs to be a nice spot to hang out. Can’t wait to spend the time together!

SUMMARY:Sukkot / Feast of Tabernacles
DESCRIPTION:Sukkot/Feast of Tabernacles: October 6-13\, 2025\nBeginning the evening of Monday\, October 6th\, the seven days of Sukkot are celebrated by dwelling in the sukkah (tent / portable covering)\, taking the Four Kinds\, and rejoicing. \nSukkot commemorates Adonai sheltering our ancestors as they traveled from Egypt to the Promised Land. The Four Kinds express our unity and our belief in God’s omnipresence. \nComing after the solemn Days of Awe it is a time of joy and happiness. \nThe first day of Sukkot is yom tov\, when work is forbidden. Traditionally (not biblically)\, candles are lit in the evening\, and festive meals are preceded with Kiddush and contain challah dipped in honey. \nThe intermediate days are quasi holidays\, known as chol hamoed. We dwell in the sukkah and wave the Four Kinds every day. \nIf you would like to join us at our campground for part or all of Sukkot\, please email info@doyc.faith. The more\, the merrier!

SUMMARY:Shavuot
DESCRIPTION:A Day of Covenants and Power\n\nAs the days of counting the Omer roll on\, we are more than halfway to the feast of Shavuot\, the second of three annual pilgrimage festivals commanded by God. This is the day on which Yahweh often affirms covenants with displays of supernatural power.\nYou shall count for yourselves seven weeks. From the time you begin to put the sickle to the standing grain you shall begin to count seven weeks. You shall keep the feast of weeks to Yahweh your God with a tribute of a freewill offering of your hand\, which you shall give\, according as Yahweh your God blesses you. You shall rejoice before Yahweh your God: you\, your son\, your daughter\, your male servant\, your female servant\, the Levite who is within your gates\, the foreigner\, the fatherless\, and the widow\, who are among you\, in the place which Yahweh your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there. You shall remember that you were a slave in Egypt. You shall observe and do these statutes.\n(Deuteronomy 16:9-12)\n\n\n\nThis year\, Shavuot (a.k.a. Pentecost) will happen on the second Sunday of June. That’s June 8th.\n\n\n\nThat day\, we’ll be holding a holy convocation from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. SUMMARY:Shavuot (a.k.a.) Pentecost
DESCRIPTION:Last but not least is the feast of the firstfruits of the wheat harvest. Falling 50 days after the firstfruits of barley (i.e. the day following 7 weeks of “counting the Omer”)\, this appointed time is a high Sabbath\, but with the twist that we can prepare food for the feast. Shavuot is the day of covenants – an amazing day when God has repeatedly made permanent\, binding agreements with his people throughout history. This year it falls on Sunday\, June 8th Meeting place and time is TBD.

SUMMARY:BAPTISMS (MIKVEH)
DESCRIPTION:After lunch\, we will change into appropriate clothing and go (shoes/sandtals) into the San Gabriel River. Then we will head to Chandler Park in Georgetown. Why\, might you ask? To immerse! During Temple times\, Israelites who went to worship there would first ritually immerse (mikvah) in pools of living water (from the Gihon River). This wa an outward action meant to signify an inward change of state. Since we no longer go into the Temple\, we like to perform immersions before the Spring and Fall Mo’ediym as a way of reminding and preparing ourselves. If you’ve never undergone immersion in the name of Yeshua as a public confession of dying to your old life and being raised to new life in Messiah\, this Shabbat would be a great time for it!
