DOYC: Outdoors Edition

We all eagerly anticipate the Season of Joy, and guess what? The wait is almost over! The Feast of Tabernacles begins Monday evening!

Yahweh said, “live in booths,” so that’s what we’re gonna do. From Monday until Sunday, we’ll be dwelling at the campsites at Berry Springs Park in Georgetown. The address is 1801 Co Rd 152, Georgetown, TX 78626. If the gate is closed when you arrive, call us at 512-777-1075 for the gate code.

Come early if you can so that you’ve got plenty of time to set up before sundown.

Our first service will start at approximately sunset, and then we’ll hang out in our communal sukkah afterward. We’ll convene at site #16.

Our second service will be Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM.

Sabbath service this week will be at St. Philip’s UMC, as usual. Then we’ll return to the campground that afternoon or evening.

Snack and refreshments will be available, but you’ll need to provide your own meals during the week.

PLEASE RSVP by replying to info@doyc.faith and telling us which days/nights you plan to be present.

Some folks use the campsite only on the first night and then tabernacle in their yard for the remainder of the week. Others camp with us only during the weekend that falls within Sukkot. It’s up to each family, but we’d like to know your plans so that we can plan appropriately for snack/drinks and activities.

DOYC has reserved spaces 13, 14, and 16, each of which will accommodate a few tents. Spaces are not assigned except that the Gablers will use part of space #16.

Last Thing

Don’t forget to bring your Bibles and lulavs, a large water bottle (there’s no water at the sites—running water is accessible nearby), and a folding camp chair (we have a few, but not enough for everyone).

The campground does not permit glass containers of any kind. I know: boooo, hissss. Sorry.

Aside from that, we think you’ll find Berry Springs to be a nice spot to hang out. Can’t wait to spend the time together!
